My wife is frontline worker and she is a breastfeeding women. pls help to confirm is COVID vaccination safe for her ? Is there any guidelines from government for COVID vaccinations for pregnant and lactating women's.

A. She should definitely get vaccinated. Now the data is changing globally and it is now said that covid 19 is of more severity in pregnant females and infants, unlike what was said previously. Regarding lactation,it is said that the vaccine might confer antibodies to the newborn as well and will benefit him/her,but no harm atleast theoretically. I am a doctor myself,and a lactating mother. Got recently vaccinated after reading about it in detail. Go ahead,and all the best!

A. Hello dear parent! As per the guidelines pregnant women and lactating mothers are not advisable to take the vaccination. Need to check with your local authorities for further guidance. Clarify all your concerns and follow your doctor’s advice diligently. Good luck and take care.
