Q.

I have read that a pregnant woman should not sleep on her back, especially after 28th week of pregnancy. I find sleeping on the back the most comfortable. Is it very dangerous or can I do it anyways for now? I am 21 weeks pregnant right now.

A. Usually it is advised to sleep on ur left side during pregnancy as the oxygen supply is good for the baby in that position. But it's ok if you use your right side too. But sleeping on ur back is usually not preferred due to oxygen supply issues for the baby. Sometimes it is difficult to sleep while taking one particular side during pregnancy but try to sleep in that position. You will start feeling comfortable after few days. Rest it is always advisable to consult your gynaecologist regarding this. Doctor will certainly guide you better.

A. Hello my dear! Ideal site to sleep is on the left side. You can sleep as per your convenience. Do not worry about it. If you have any concerns, please let your doctor know that and clarify them. Good luck and take care.
