POOJA KOTHARIExpecting Mom due in 1 month3 months agoA. For a 6-month-old baby, breast milk or formula is still the main source of nutrition, but you can now start introducing solids slowly. Here’s a simple daily feeding routine:
🍼 Milk Feeds: 4–6 times/day (breast milk or formula) 🍽️ Solids (1–2 times/day to start): Start with small amounts (2–3 spoonfuls) and gradually increase. Offer in mid-morning and afternoon. Good first foods: Rice water, moong dal water Mashed banana, steamed apple puree Ragi porridge, homemade cerelac Well-cooked moong dal khichdi (soft, mashed) Tips: Introduce one new food at a time every 3 days to check for allergies. Feed in a calm and happy environment. Avoid salt, sugar, honey, cow milk, and packaged foods.
Let your baby lead — some days they’ll eat more, some less, and that’s okay. Always continue regular milk feeds along with solids.
