Q.

#asktheexperts Hello Ma'am. Hope you are doing great. I am a mother of 7 months old baby boy. My concern is regarding head shaving ceremony like what is the ideal age for ceremony, what precautions we need to take, and how much time baby's fontanelle i.e soft spot needs to completely closed so that there is no chances of damage during the ceremony. Everyone is forcing me to do the ceremony in 11th month within one yr of age. But I don't want to take any risk. So, please tell me whether it is safe or we need to wait.

A. As per normal Indian tradition it’s actually done in the audios which is why everybody must be telling you to get it done on the under the age of one year and you can actually get it done by the time of 829 months as the head is by them which is comfortable and once you get it done immediately apply some cold water mixed with turmeric into that to avoid rash or anything but otherwise if you’re not convinced don’t get it done till the time you are not mentally sorted you are mental comfort comfort and understanding and the child’s comfort is more important over what anybody else has to say
