Q.

#asktheexpert my baby is 6.5 months old. She sleeps late night around 3o’clock and gets up by 11 in the morning. She takes 3 naps of 1hr in between. This has become a routine. Can you advise on how to wake her early and put her to sleep early.

A. Sleeping cycle of small babies vary from one child to another and if there is no discomfort or any cause like infantile colic ,nasal blockage or any kind of pain and if the child is playful and taking proper feeding there is nothing to worry, have patience , this pattern will get normal with time.just keep monitoring your baby for comfortable position and temperature.Ac can be used at 26-27 C but no direct exposure to its air. every baby has its own sleeping pattern which keeps changing with age, only after 5-6 mons of age you can establish a regular sleep cycle gradually with time n age. too much of light and noise may interfere, avoid any excess screen time, fix a regular time, do not allow day time sleep which us not so necessary , massage the feet of the baby for a relaxed and undisturbed sleep. gentle rocking and patting of the baby, singing a lullaby, and light music will also play a good role. lesser the noise and better the sleep.a sound sleep of 8-10h hrs with a proper diet is sufficient for child's health.

A. Hello dear parent, you will have to set her routine. Just wake her up one a little early than 11 am. Her routine for the day Wil be set. Another morning again wake her up earlier than the prior, this way her routine will be set as per you. Do not try setting her routine in one day. She is small and needs time to get into routine as of yours.
