#asktheexpert my baby has cough and cold since 5 days. Doc prescribed cetirizine but her cough is getting worse. Should i go for antibiotics? I got a cold myself from her i have yellow phlegm.

Author of questionGuardian of a 2 yr 9 m old girl2 years agoA. Well it turned out to be bacterial infection. It started with upper respiratory infection and went down. Her chest was full of mucus. Breathing became difficult. Had to switch to antibiotics.

Cough and Cold along with the symptom like Fever loss of appetite irritability could be a featurfe of viral infection or seasonal flu where most of the time supphortive treatment is given. along with that cough expectorant and decongestant with antiallergic medicine given. steam inhalation can be given frequently to relieve the symptoms.
