Q.
Will iron syrup increases cold when baby is having cold and cough? Is it fine to use iron syrup at that time?

Cold most of the time is a viral illness where there could be running nose sneezing along with cough and it needs supportive care along with proper hydration . steam inhalation will also be useful in this .
cough needs to be treated with anti allergic and expectorant bronchodilators or antitussives medicine which should be used once a proper evaluation by the doctor is done and according to the type of cough its prescribed.
if any fever is there paracetamol can be given to reduced the temperature and the dose can be repeated again after 6 hours if required .

Sarika guptaMom of 2 children3 years agoA. Hello there ma’am please do not worry about it too much and in my opinion and personal experience of two babies yes you can give your baby iron syrup during the cold and cough. Still you can consult with your local doctor on phone too.
