what to be done if a 1 year old catches cold?

Dr Sameer awadhiyaGuardian of 2 children2 years agoA. Cold most of the time is a viral illness where there could be running nose sneezing along with cough and it needs supportive care along with proper hydration . steam inhalation will also be useful in this .
cough needs to be treated with anti allergic and expectorant bronchodilators or antitussives medicine which should be used once a proper evaluation by the doctor is donfe and according to the type of cough its prescribed.
if any fever is there paracetamol can be given to reduce the temperature and the dose can be repeaghted again after 6 hours if required .

Sarika guptaMom of 2 children2 years agoA. Hello there ma’am please do not worry about it too much and it is better to evaluate once your baby with local child doctor in person and follow the prescription and also apply Luke warm mustard oil on baby chest.
