Q.

#asktheexpert My son who is 7 months old is suffering from a cold with gurgling sound in the nose and throat with a wet cough since the last week of December. Two doctors have already prescribed two types of antibiotics and antihistamines like allegra. But he's getting sick on an on and off basis. is there anything we can do?

A. regular cough and cold in children are most commonly associated with allergy which might be due to weather changes on temperature variations. many times simple cough and cold is followed by secondary infections. it is very common that children will have a recurrent cough and cold as well as fedver before 7 years of age and after that a proper immunity is developed and then this problem will go away. get the child vaccinated for flu vaccine which will again help in decreasing this problem d
