My newborn baby (5days) didn't pass urine since 8to 9 hours is that normal

Put some cold water on the vagina region or the urinal region the child is going to pass urine after that and it is not a healthy sign that the child is not passing urine for 8 to 9 hours only the child is sleeping it is alright but if the child is awake yet not passing then this is one thing that you should do now
