A. White patches on a child’s face are commonly due to a condition called pityriasis alba, which is harmless and often seen in children with dry or sensitive skin. It can also result from vitamin deficiencies (especially B12), mild fungal infections, or excessive sun exposure. Apply a gentle moisturizer regularly and use a child-safe sunscreen during the day. Avoid using harsh soaps on the face. If the patches are spreading, itchy, or not improving in a couple of weeks, it’s best to consult a pediatrician or dermatologist for proper diagnosis and treatment.
