To give you some immediate context, weight is just one piece of the puzzle, but here is where a 6.8 kg weight generally sits for a 9-month-old:
For baby girls: 6.8 kg is typically around the 5th percentile.
For baby boys: 6.8 kg is generally below the 3rd percentile.
Being on the lower end of the percentile chart or below it doesn't automatically mean something is wrong, but it is an important reason to consult your pediatrician. What Your Pediatrician Will Look At
Doctors don't just look at a single number on a scale; they look at the whole picture of your baby's health:
Growth Trend: Is your baby following their own steady growth curve over time, or has their weight gain suddenly slowed down?
Height and Head Circumference: Growth happens in multiple directions. Your doctor will see if their weight matches their length.
Developmental Milestones: Is your baby active, reaching milestones (like sitting up, crawling, or babbling), and meeting their developmental goals?
Energy and Wet Diapers: Is your baby producing regular wet and dirty diapers, and do they seem generally happy and alert?
AbhayaMom of a 16 yr 5 m old boy1 Year agoA. Hello there maam please do not worry about it too much. Baby weight depends on birth weight and normally doubles by the age of six months and triples by the age of one year. If baby is active and taking feed properly then no need to panic. Mother should take healthy food items including fresh fruits and dry fruits.
Please give semi solid food items like banana and mashed potatoes and mashed apples to the baby. You can give homemade cerelac and vegetables puree to the baby. Also give suji kheer and daal paani to the baby. Start giving formula milk to the baby. You can also give mashed idli to the baby.
Thanks and take care
