A. It’s common for 5-year-old children to experience “growing pains,” which usually cause mild leg aches, especially in the evening or at night. To help, gently massage the legs, ensure your child gets enough rest, and provide warm baths if needed. Encourage regular physical activity but avoid overexertion. Make sure your child’s diet includes enough calcium and vitamin D. If the pain is severe, persistent, or accompanied by swelling, redness, or difficulty walking, consult a doctor to rule out other causes.
