Most important is rest for the child as much as possible as that would help to recover well and soon.
fluids are very much essential as well . it helps in preventing dehydration as well, and other condition as such which are quite assiocated with it such as diarrhea , vomiting , fever etc
give liquid kind of foods in small quantities such as soups, broth etc
easy to digest foods as such - banana, rice , bread ,
avoid fried. spicy and diary as such
though dairy varies as per how he reacts to it .
include probiotics such as kefir, curds, yoggurt etc this only once symptoms are under control.
fibre rich foods can be gradually be given once the child is better
look out for triggers as such and avoid them

Please get in touch with your doctor on this matter to clarify your concerns. Complete the course of treatment as advice by the doctor and there will be a gradual improvement.
