Cough and cold can we because of some allergic reaction in the body most of the time it is viral in the origin need to give symptomatic treatment first like steam inhalation and some home remedies cigough expectorant may be required along with anti allergic medications

Use saline nasal drops
Give indirect steam inhalation
Bm contains natural antibiotics to cure infection like cold cough naturally
Stay hydrated healthy
Give adequate feeding
