Q.
Hello My query is regarding the paracetamol dosage.It is recommended that maximum of 4 dose should be given in 24 hrs interval .This is the protocol followed if fever comes at 6 hrs interval but what if high temperature is there after 4 hrs interval ,and when sponging is also not effective.In such case, maximum dose of 4 would be exceeded,kindly update and do the needful.

Fever is a response of the body to any kind of infection or any inflammatory process in body so you can give paracetamol in a dose of 15 mg/kg/dose as the first line treatment also this dose can be again repeated aftvger every 5 to 6 hours if again required and you can also do cold sponging of the body to reduce fever
