Q.

hello, my baby is 7 months old ...not gaining enough weight have only 5.6 kg ....her birth weight was 2.3 kg ....she doesn't crawling or sitting ...looks very thin .... sometimes she shows hyperactivity by putting her hands on mouth .... is this normal ? please anyone answer ...I'm worried about her

A. Hello, By 6 months baby is supposed to be weighing at least twice of what the baby’s birth weight was. In your case, baby has doubled birth weight but still is on the underweight side. Try to feed baby on demand and evry 2-3 hrs if baby doesnt feel hungry. Consult a doc who will suggest you if formula is needed in addition to breastmilk. Also if breastfeeding try to feed for at least 10-15 mins on one side before you switch to the other side.

A. if the child is not gaining proper weight it would be better if you you ask your doctor regarding this doctor will guide you properly and then accordingly you can decide for the management for this thanks
