Q.

Hello doctor, my daughter is 3months old she has caught cold and when she breathe it’s kind of vibrating sound. I guess it’s mucus . Kindly guide me what should i do?

A. Cough along with Cold most of the time is a viral illness and it needs supportive care along with proper hydration. you can give steam inhalation which is very useful . cough needs to be treated with anti allergic and expectorant bronchodilators or antitussives medicine which should be given only after a proper evaluatioyn by the dojctor according to the type of cough. if fever is there paracetamol can be given to reduce the fever and the dose can be repeated after 6 hours again if required .

A. Hello mom If it’s a condition that in such case you should definitely consult with your Pratish and about it because your doctor can only advise you will after examining baby. You should never give any sort of medication to your baby till it is not advised by doctors of first consult with your doctor about it
