A. avoid, not useful.
Giving gripe water is not necessary to babies at any age. If the baby is having gases or colics you can try Colicaid drops.
Burp properly after each feeding is important.

A. Gripe water is a liquid supplement that has been historically used to help soothe colic, gas, and fussiness in infants. It typically contains a combination of herbs, such as ginger, fennel, and chamomile, along with other ingredients like sodium bicarbonate and sugar.
The safety and effectiveness of gripe water for newborns can be a topic of debate. Here are some important points to consider:
Lack of Scientific Evidence: While gripe water has been used for generations and some parents find it helpful, there is limited scientific evidence to support its efficacy in treating colic or gas in infants.
Concerns About Ingredients: Gripe water formulations can vary, and some may contain ingredients that are not suitable for very young infants. For example, some gripe waters contain alcohol or artificial flavors.
Potential for Allergic Reactions: Some babies may be sensitive or allergic to certain ingredients in gripe water, leading to adverse reactions.
Risk of Overfeeding: Giving gripe water too frequently can lead to overfeeding, as it can be seen as a solution for soothing a fussy baby. Overfeeding can have its own set of problems.
Medical Advice: It's essential to consult with a pediatrician or healthcare professional before giving any over-the-counter remedies or supplements to your newborn. Your doctor will consider your baby's specific needs and can provide guidance on safe and effective options for colic or fussiness.
In many cases, pediatricians may recommend alternatives to gripe water, such as adjusting feeding techniques, changing the baby's diet (if breastfeeding), or using specially designed anti-colic bottles. Always follow your healthcare provider's advice to ensure the safety and well-being of your newborn.
