#asktheexperts My son who is almost 5 months is 5.6kg. Birth weight was 2.9kg. His height is 66cm. He is on breastfeed. Should I give formula just because his weight is on lower side

A. Namaste Mom, Monthly weight gain of a full term baby is expected to almost gain in the range of 400 gm to 1 kg and by the age of 4 to 6 months they double their birth weight. You can start with formula , but also prefer to introduce the baby to weaning foods initially starting with liquid foods and gradually moving to semi solid and mashed foods
