#asktheexperts my baby is 8 months old with 7.3 kg, hasn't gained any weight in the past one month. I have been giving solids since he turned 6 months. I give him 2 rice dal based meals and 2 porridge and 1 meal of soup or fruit. what can I do better and why has he not gained any weight in one full month

A. weight is in normal range.. Give three major meal and one snack a day Continue with breast feeding or formula milk feeding in between and on demand. You can give Daal Khichdi with adding variety of veggies like Spinach, potatoes, beans, carrot, pumpkin. Give Ragi , makkhana, rice, suji porridge, suji kheer, oats. Give fruits like peach, pear, apple, avcado, banana in pureed form or mashed form. You can add few drops of ghee and dry fruits Powder in each preparation to enhance nutritional value.

A. Including Good amount of fats is also going to be good you can give about 2 tablespoons of butter or ghee to your child on an every day basis along with the food that you are giving and also give rich proteins to the child specially cottage it is a very good source and if your child has completed the age of eight months or whenever your child as you can start giving egg yellow also that’s also very healthy for overall weight gain
