#asktheexpert My sister’s baby is 5 months old and he is not gaining weight, but he is active. should we be worried? Birth weight was 2.8kg now he is 5.3kg.

A. dear parent, the weight of your sisters baby is fine since baby has been gaining at least 500 gram weight per month. baby should double the birth weight by 6 months

A. As long as they're meeting developmental milestones, are alert and active, and are feeding well, you likely don't need to worry.
