POOJA KOTHARIMom of a 8 yr 5 m old boy5 months agoA. If your baby boy has been pooping frequently since birth and it hasn’t reduced even at four months, it depends on the consistency, frequency, and his overall health.
If the stools are watery, very frequent (more than 8–10 times a day), or have mucus, blood, or a foul smell, it may indicate an issue like lactose intolerance, infection, or gut sensitivity, and a doctor’s consultation is recommended. If he is gaining weight well, active, and the stools are soft but not watery, it might just be his natural pattern, especially if he is exclusively breastfed (breastfed babies can poop multiple times a day).
However, if you notice weight loss, dehydration signs (dry mouth, fewer wet diapers), or persistent loose stools, it’s best to consult a pediatrician for evaluation.
