A. Dear mum, pooping red after eating beet root is normal, do not worry. You can continue to feed beet root. It is one of the healthy vegetables. Also feed other vegetables like carrot, pumpkin, sweet potatoes and green leafy vegetables like spinach.

A. Yes, it can be completely normal. After eating beetroot, some babies (and adults) may pass reddish or pink-colored stool (poo). This is called beeturia when it affects urine, and beet pigments can also color stool. If your 8-month-old recently ate beetroot and is otherwise well, the red color is often from the beetroot itself. Watch for signs that suggest it might be something else: Blood mixed in the stool rather than a uniform red/pink color Black, tarry stools Diarrhea, vomiting, fever, unusual fussiness, or signs of illness If the red stool appeared after beetroot and your baby seems fine, you can generally continue giving beetroot in age-appropriate amounts.
