A. Laryngomalacia is common in infants and usually improves as the baby grows. Since your baby is experiencing sleep disturbances due to congestion and nasal blockage, here are some ways to help her breathe more comfortably: How to Relieve Congestion & Improve Sleep: Saline Nasal Drops: Use pediatric saline drops (like Nasivion Saline) before bedtime to clear her nose. Steam Inhalation: Sit with her in a steamy bathroom for a few minutes before sleep to loosen mucus. Keep Her Head Elevated: Slightly elevate her head while sleeping using a safe wedge or by tilting the mattress (not pillows). Use a Humidifier: A cool-mist humidifier in the room can help keep her airways moist. Frequent Burping: If she’s bottle-fed, burp her frequently to reduce reflux, which can worsen laryngomalacia symptoms. Avoid Overheating: Dress her in breathable clothes and avoid too many blankets, which can worsen congestion. Tummy Time (When Awake): Helps strengthen neck muscles and improve breathing. When to See a Doctor? If she has severe breathing difficulty, bluish skin/lips, poor weight gain, or excessive reflux. If the congestion lasts too long despite home remedies. Laryngomalacia usually improves by 12-18 months, but managing congestion will help her sleep better. Let me know if you need more specific tips!
