POOJA KOTHARIMom of a 8 yr 5 m old boy4 months agoA. Babies typically begin to recognize and focus on faces by 4 to 6 weeks of age, and by 2 to 3 months, most babies actively look at faces, especially familiar ones like their parents. If your baby is older than 2 months and still does not respond to or focus on faces, it might be due to immature vision development, or occasionally a visual or neurological issue.
To encourage visual development:
Make eye contact often during feeding and playtime. Use high-contrast toys and move them slowly in front of their face. Ensure the baby is getting enough tummy time, which also helps with overall development.
If your baby is 3 months or older and still not making eye contact or tracking objects, it’s best to consult a pediatrician or pediatric ophthalmologist to rule out any concerns early.
