Q.

#Pediatrics My 7.5 month old smiles in response to smile and she laughs while playing. she would at times look at us when we call her name. she makes aa sound, but does not do that back and forth. If we try to make sounds or say aa. she will stop or not look at us. is this age appropriate or any concerns.

A. Hello dear parent! It is a normal finding in small infants. Communicate with your child. Keep telling stories. Give your baby a well balanced healthy diet and keep hydrated all through the day. Continue breastfeeding your baby well till one year completion. Speak to your doctor for further advice. Good luck and take care.

Hi, My 3.5month old baby (born at 33 weeks 5 days) sometimes look at our faces (sometimes in eyes) while we speak to him and tracks us when we move around when we keep him on floor; but does not look at us when we hold him in hand. Can it be considered as Eye contact. Also, he looks at ceiling fan or lamps and smiles a lot, but rarely smiles when we make him smile.
