NikithaMom of a 10 yr 11 m old boy3 years agoA. Normal axillary (under the arm) temperature ranges from 97.5 to 99.3 degrees Fahrenheit (36.5 to 37.4 degrees Celsius)*. Use only a blunt tipped rectal thermometer. Coat the end of the thermometer with petroleum jelly. Gently insert the thermometer into the baby's rectum, no further than 1/2 inch.
