VasundharaMom of a 7 yr old girl5 years agoA. Please don’t force the child. Try to give the food item in small quantity like keep a bite of chapatto or cheela in his plate and let him pick and eat on his own, if he doesn’t then take the plate away. The more you force the more he will resist and eventually give up on eating. Try offering it in some other meal, like if he used to eat cheela in bfast then offer in lunch or dinner. Try to give fruits or steamed veggies, cutlets, boiled corn, sabutdana, idli etc… let him play with food if he wants to feel the texture. Just don’t use any distractions to feed him, eat together showing him how yummy the food is. He will be temted to try. Gripe water is usually not recommended as it contains some amount of alcohol. It is a phase and shall pass soon, only your patience and trusting your child’s appetite will help. If you are still concerned, please consult a good homeopathic doc who can give your child treatment for teething and post covid recovery.

VasundharaMom of a 7 yr old girl5 years agoA. Hi! He has just recovered from an illness and also in teething phase, we adults also loose our appetite during such times, it’s normal for babies too. If breastfeeding then continue to do so on demand, and give finger foods that baby can eat on his own, without forcing the child.

Author of questionFather of a 6 yr 9 m old boy5 years agoA. he is not taking anything except milk, what can we do so that he take atleast some other food. He used to take chapati, rice, suji chilla etc but now a days does not even look at the food and when we try to force him then start crying. There will be anything that can be given or done for this. We have started giving him gripe water, will that help to overcome this?
