Q.

My pediatrician has given rotarix vaccination for ratavirus instead of rotateq.. can some one let me know if both r same...my baby has loose motion after rotarix vaccination...he is on both bf and formula... also please let me know side effects for rotarix and rotateq...

A. hi both vaccine are fine for rotavirus vaccination. you can give it. some rashes loose motions vomitting may happen as side effects in both. it should be mild and should improve in 24 to 48 hours. if bottle feeding maintain sterility as its a common source of infection too

A. Firstly This loose is not bcz of rotavirus vaccine It may be due to stomach infection or feed indigestion If baby is passing adequate urine ie minimum 6-8 times per day Then no need to worry for motion ( once in 7 days or 15 times per day- both conditions normal) Don't give so much importance to motion unless blood in motion or bad smelling motion Keep ur baby well hydrated Continue to give Breast milk Don't give water and other food items at this age Wait for some more days Everything will be alright If blood in stool or less urine output then consult with nearest pediatrician

A. My baby is 3.5 month old...his doctor gave rotateq for first 2 doses and rotasure for the 3 dose....does it makes any difference.....is rotateq and rotasure same thing...thanks

A. thanks for responding... my son has loose motion like 10times a day...for 10 days..he is 10 weeks old now... I consulted my pediatrician he told it's Cox of formula ...I use nan pro so he gave me isomil..no lactose...I used for 2 weeks...today I started with nan with 1 feed.. if motion continues to be loose should I stop nan pro... please suggest... coming monday he has next vaccination..am worried if loose motion comes back... I am maintaining full hygiene in bottle feed...
