my daughter 13 months was having high fever from last 2 days.so my pediatrician recommended to give ibugesic plus and meftal p and levocetirizine. Post that she is not eating and taking my feed.

I took my daughter to a pediatrician today & as per his presciption I have started giving ibugesic plus & xyzal & meftal p if fever is not subsidized for 8 hours  but my daughter has stop taking feed & not eating anything. I am wondering what can I give to her to overcome loss of apetite

Fever is the reaction of the body towards any kind of infection or any inflammatory process in body and only when the temperature is above 99F it is considered as fever, so you can give paracetamol in a dose of 15 mg/kg/dose as the first line treatment this dose can be again repeated after every 5 to 6 hours if again required and you can also do cold sponging of the body to reduce fever in between the doses ,but if it continues further you should consult your doctor for proper treatment. if the temperature is not controlled by paracetamol alone meftal p can be given in between as a single dose butune only under medical guidance.these medicines will also work to relieve any pain or body ache to a good extent. but in case of infection in which the fever is associated with other problems also it is recommended to get the clinical assessment done and get a proper treatment done by a doctor.
