Q.
my baby is 9months old I consulted a doc for constipation..he recomend laxolite syrup 3.5 ml 3times a day and Nutruline B, 5ml a day...but after giving till now there is no recovery....he is crying alott while passing a stool but stool cnt able to come bcs i think that area is paining alot....please tell me in how many hours medicine will take to come smooth stool...or suvest something else

Dr. Vaibhav jainFather of a 6 yr 5 m old girl5 years agoA. this is normal. first of all no laxative is given to babies below 2 yrs at all. hard stools is common due to change in food pattern and content. For immediate relief from constipation u can use dulcolax / glycerin suppository. To avoid and rectify constipation u shud focus on diet change. Increase water content and give plenty of other fluids also
