Q.

my baby is 9months old I consulted a doc for constipation..he recomend laxolite syrup 3.5 ml 3times a day and Nutruline B, 5ml a day...but after giving till now there is no recovery....he is crying alott while passing a stool but stool cnt able to come bcs i think that area is paining alot....please tell me in how many hours medicine will take to come smooth stool...or suvest something else

A. this is normal. first of all no laxative is given to babies below 2 yrs at all. hard stools is common due to change in food pattern and content. For immediate relief from constipation u can use dulcolax / glycerin suppository. To avoid and  rectify constipation u shud focus on diet change. Increase water content and give plenty of other fluids also
