Q.
My baby is 2.5 months old and his weight is 3.5 kgs. Is he very underweight ?? What should I do to increase his weight ??

ExpertDr. Minal AcharyaNutritionist4 years agoA. Dear mum, what was the birth weight? If your baby has been gaining 500 grams per month and is active, alert, passing urine more than 7 times in 24 hours, achieving all growth milestones then do not worry.
For healthy weight gain, exclusively breastfeed till 6 months complete. At one episode of breast feeding feed from only one breast so that baby receives fat rich hindmilk which will help in weight gain.

Author of questionMom of a 4 yr 5 m old boy4 years agoA. He was 3 kg at birth, but got 2.5 kgs due to jaundice after 4 days of birth. He's totally on breastfeed since birth.
