my baby is 10 days old and having a light blood in the navel.. is it normal for all babies or is it serious

A. Did the umbilical cord fall down? If yes then it could be because of friction of clothes over that area that has lead to bleeding. But if the bleeding is more or continues you need to consult a paediatrician to know if it has got any infection or there is any umbilical granulomaWrite Your Answer Here

A. During the healing process, it's normal to see a little blood near the stump. Much like a scab, the cord stump might bleed a little when it falls off. However, contact your baby's doctor if the umbilical area oozes pus, the surrounding skin becomes red and swollen, or the area develops a pink moist bump.
