Cough is a protective reflex of the body to expel out the mucus or any irritant factor from the respiratory tract which is most of the time assosiated with cold due to any viral or bacterial infection . A proper egjxamination is required to find the cause .
As a home remedy you can start with steam inhalation . Cough can be treated with cough surppressant or antitussives as per the cause. For cold antihistamines are useful and nasal saline drops are also benifecial .

RashmiMom of a 11 yr old girl2 years agoA. Sinarist 1.5 ML can be given to the child twice a day as of now this is a basic antiallergic that I am suggesting you apart from that also I would advise you to go ahead with a consultation with your doctor regarding this for a beta medication associated
