Q.

my 5 month old baby hand flaps a lot. Most of the time his hands are up and flaps it holding it very tight. He is been doing this from 2 months old. Is it normal for babies to flap hands. Also his head is still wobbly. Otherwise he is rolling well and now trying for crawling too. I'm worried a lot about hand flapping.

A. Hello...Hand flapping is usually seen when the child is in a heightened emotional state, such as excited or anxious, and sometimes even upset. ... Hand flapping in developmentally typical children can lessen or dissolve over time, but often it does not.
