Q.
My 5 month old baby boy sometimes when he urinate red colour is spotted in diaper (image attached). I just wanted to know is it blood or is it normal?? He is breastfed baby. No food has been introduced yet. Is it because of dehydration??

ExpertDr.Deepinder Kaur DhawanObstetrician and Gynaecologist5 years agoA. it can be due to dehydration also or it can be a sign of infection. feed baby more frequently and limit use of diapers for few days. if baby cries during urination or having fever then you need to visit paediatrician

Author of questionMom of a 6 yr 5 m old boy5 years agoA. hi Anusha, I began drinking more water especially before feeding baby and after feeding baby. I have also consulted a doctor and the doctor asked to have a urine test as this can be due to several reasons. Baby's urine test came out normal. Please consider consulting a doctor as to be assured that everything is normal with baby. Do feed baby whenever baby wants and feed him till he is satisfied. You also hydrate yourself more often and eat healthy.
