My 11-month-old baby has been having fever and cough for the past 5 days. We consulted a doctor and completed all the recommended tests, but fortunately, all the test results were negative. The doctor prescribed cough syrup, paracetamol, antibiotics, and some other medicines. However, the fever and cough are still continuing, so I would like to know if any further evaluation or treatment is needed

It could be associated with viral or throat infection which is why cough still there so if you want you can check with the doctor for a blood test if required that will be helpful to detect whether it is viral or any other kind of fever and for cough apart from giving medication you can start nebulising using saline water that is helpful and if you want to use medicines you can check with your doctor again
