#AskTheExpert mam my one and half year old baby girl is passing stool in mucus plus blodd stains in it for few days..already consulted the doctor but no improvement what was the reason for that?kindly plz replay...

A. this is an infection.. please consult a paed immediately for antibiotics to clear it

A. Stop giving milk for few days as it is bacterial infection. Give Enterogermina Oral Suspension twice a day for 5 days. Also give ORS water instead of milk.

A. My daughter had same problem last year. She was treated in hospital for 3 days for stomach infection. If ur daughter is suffering from stomach pain while passing sthool, Oral treatment will not work in this case. You should take her to a child specialist immediately where stool test can be performed.

A. is your daughter receiving iron supplement? My daughter did not tolerate iron supplement and whenever I gave her iron supplement she had mild blood spots in her stool

A. blood is never normal in stools. I think u shd consult a different doctor. honestly I don't think the first dr wud have really said it's ok... anyone wud have suggested u to get some tests

A. Mucus is still ok. But if the stools have blood it needed to be treated immediately. Antibiotic can be the treatment. U can change your doc

A. It is caused due to dehydration in my childhood I used to face that problem Make her drink plenty of water and use any lubricant to apply to avoid bleeding

A. if your child is suffering from loose motions and if it contains mucus blood and it is foul smelling there is some bacterial infection for which a proper antibiotic treatment is required
