ExpertDr. Swapnil SaxenaAyurvedic Physician7 years agoA. hi never do such things to just a new born on 1 month old or any baby because it may injure him and cause problems in future your anger will not improve the situation and worsen it. Common causes of crying or sleeplessness in babies could include hunger, colic or gases, ear ache, feeling too cold or too warm, uneasiness in full diaper, itching, lying in one position for too long causing discomfort , teething troubles, or too tiredness. Sometimes its the darkness in the room that scares them and they need to be cuddled. They need physical contact and reassurance to comfort them. Try to meet all the immediate needs of the baby to calm them down and comfort them. Massage their tummy in clockwise direction to help release gases and the touch will soothe them.

RohiniMom of a 7 yr 10 m old girl7 years agoA. dear sleeplessness is common in new bornie.though there might be exceptional.newborns cannot differentiate day and night, they doent even understand how to show they are sleepy.as you said new mom's get angry due to their post delivery pressure and tiredness due to irritable behaviour of new horns.but, we have to bare and understand their way of following routine.it will surely take time to build understanding between mom and new born child..as time goes..baby start adjusting to our life and understand.once it completes 4 months, it will be more concentrated towards new things(playing, observing ppl n all)so gradually cryingness will reduce.

meghali BorahMom of a 9 yr old boy7 years agoA. This is very harmful. Please make her understand this should not be done, no matter how frustrated she is or how worse is the situation. Baby is just one month, and God forbid is something happens to the baby then who would be responsible? She may be going through a lot because after pregnancy because of hormonal imbalance women get to be very frustrated and lot of mood swings happens but that shouldn't effect the baby. Also please get the baby checked by a doctor, I hope the child is ok
