Q.

Is Nitrofurantoin 100 mg safe in first trimester? urine culture shows no growth. I feel burning sensation and urge to pass urine only in morning.

A. hi you are a expectant mother nirofurantoin is an antibiotic which interfere with functioning of enzyme called as G6PD present in enzyme and so should be used cautiously in patients with g6pd deficiency

A. Hello, your question is related to your pregnancy so even if you have a uti then antibiotic like cefixime should be used and not nitrofurantine 100 mg as well so

A. Hello dear! If it is advised by your doctor after personally examining you then complete the course of medication as prescribed by your doctor.
