Is it normal to have itchy flaky dry skin around nipples? Had this during breastfeeding of my first child as well

A. It may be sore nipple Appy pure ghee to ur breast And if cut or infection then use cream as per ur doctors advice If breast is hard that means ur breast is engorged In such case express milk manually and give to ur baby Stop to feed directly for some time. It will help

A. It's not normal dear... Areola should be smooth & soft... Itchiness could be because of dryness and hence flaky skin. Apply good quality nipple cream... I prefer using mamaearth nipple butter... It'll nourishes your skin around the nipples and make the skin soft and smooth

A. If applying coconut oil gives you relief it is possible due to the dryness keep applying it

A. It's not painful or cracked or sore. It's just dry n itchy at aerola. Although applying coconut oil gives relief in itchiness.

A. No it's not normal it could be due to dryness maybe apply some coconut oil on the affected area if the problem persists Consult a gynaecologist as she will be able to guide you better after examination and analysis

A. Hello...Painful cracked and bleeding nipples are not a normal side effect of breastfeeding. Nursing shouldn't be painful – in fact, pain is a warning sign that you have a problem that needs correcting.you can apply nipcare after feeding baby...clean it with warm water before next feeding to baby...using for few days you can free from cracked nipples..
