How to prepare Ragi malt at home

A. you can buy ragi flour if available or else clean and roast ragi grains first boil one cup water and add 2 tsp of ragi flour and cook while stirring on low flame. it will thicken you can dilute it with buttermilk or milk u can also add sugar or honey to it directly n serve

A. first wash the ragi thoroughly... then let it soak in clean water for overnight... in the morning drain the water and tie the ragi in a clean muslin cloth... let it sprouts ...it may take upto 1 day... keep it in dark and cool place undisturbed... the next day you will see the sprouts coming out if the ragi... spread the ragi in a wide plates and let it dry completely in the fan ... then dry roast it and let it cool down... after it cools down, grind it in small batches... sieve the powder and store it in a air tight container... you can store it in the cupboard.. but personally I prefer to keep this in the refrigerator.... when you need to feed to the baby just You can add 2 spoons Ragi powder in one cup water ( you can replace water with milk too), and . mix it well.. You can add a pinch of cardamom powder to add flavour.. then put it on the gas... on low-medium flame.. keep on stirring continuously to avoid lumps... after 3-4 minutes take it off the gas... wait for it to cool down and feed it to the kiddo .
