Bhurabi BharaliMom of a 12 yr old boy8 years agoA. Tooth decay happens when the baby sleep with milk in the mouth...or the milk keep sticking to the baby's teeth for long time... most of the baby develop habits of sleeping while drinking milk... sometimes the milk remains in their mouth.. and they sleep... this may lead to many health problems like teeth decay, ear infections, etc.. also the bottle makes the baby's teeth more susceptible to the decay in comparison to the breastfeeding... so i it is suggested to develop the healthy sleeping habits and avoid the bottle...

Rakhi PMom of 2 children8 years agoA. Bottle feeding causes tooth decay as the milk gets looked near the teeth and the sugar in it causes the decay. where as Breastfeeding not necessarily cause the decay. Don't worry about tooth decay due to BF. usually there are other reasons that cause this like sugar intake, salivary disorder, maternal or foetal illness during pregnancy, smoking during pregnancy, poor diet, poor oral dental hygiene of mother, genetics and other conditions like low birth weight , malnutrition and chronic diseases. consult doctor if your child has tooth decay.
