A. Home care for mild newborn jaundice includes: Frequent feeding: Breastfeed your baby every 2–3 hours to promote regular bowel movements, which help flush out bilirubin. Sunlight exposure: Gently expose your baby to early morning sunlight (before 9 AM) for 10–15 minutes daily. Keep your baby in a diaper near a sunny window while ensuring they are not too hot or cold. Hydration: Ensure your baby is well-hydrated with breast milk or formula to support liver function. However, do not rely only on home remedies. If your baby’s jaundice worsens (yellowing spreads to legs, very sleepy, not feeding well), see your doctor immediately. Moderate to severe jaundice may need phototherapy or other medical treatment.
