when ever my son trys to put finger in mouth i remove it and distract by talking or singing to him. when he is wants it too much I give him a clean cloth he holds it with his hands and places it near mouth I try to distract and remove it off later

generally babies will be putting their fingers in the mouth they will be sucking also it gives them pleasure just like sucking at the nipple this is not habit forming for small children since your child is only two months but never give any  honey nipple to your child it is dangerous and  causes  infection

teething, exploring, hunger, self soothing , sleep , tiredness are common reasons.

babies at this age put everything in mouth.

get  a teether of good company, BPA free for baby.

also get some plastic toys with smooth edges , check for good quality .

also you can give some clean washed ccolorful cloths to baby to play with. they love different textures.

Babies put fingers in mouth and if you didn't stop this habit now then later baby will start putting thumb in mouth and then it's really difficult to stop it,so from onwards stop baby whenever she puts finger in her mouth.
