Q.

hi, I am 8 weeks pregnant and tested my thyroid as 16 tsh.. doctor suggested to take thyronorm tablets.. but i am so much worried that will it affect my baby in those 2 months... also doctor told that the medicine will start to work from 1 month.. they told me to get tested every month.. but i am afraid that thyroid play very crucial role in pregnancy and may affect baby.. please help me..

A. if you regularly take the medications during pregnancy and have regular check up every 2 months there will be no harm to the baby due to thyroid as thyroid during pregnancy occurs but it is not being transferred to the baby unless you have hereditary history

A. Hello dear parent, your doctor knows better about the situation so it is better to follow your doctor’s instruction. If you do not trust her then change the doctor. Otherwise you will only affect the health of your baby other way round. Good luck and take care
