hi Dr Rasika an mother of 2 months baby. couldn't feed my son. if I feed him my legs and hands getting numb. relative and people around me say it's because am weak. so I didn't feed him. now milk is getting secreted and am getting fever. shall I take injection to stop milk. or what shall I do??

eat healthy diet..take all supplements n do breastfeed your baby..dont stop feeding..if you are weak take supplements along with healthy diet..tc

milk duct gets blocked.

sucking action of baby is the most effective remedy.

try different feeding positions too to empty breast completely.

make sure your baby drains the breast completely. avoid congestion. watch and palpate for any hardness in breast due to blocked duct, redness, pain , fever. then immediately consult gynaecologist.

do not express milk in excess quantities otherwise it will further stimulate production.

if nipple is flattened due to excess milk. express some so that baby can latch properly.

feed the baby on congested side first.
you need to find out the cause of numbness, yry different feeding positions, use pillows , maintain hydration,  continue calcium supplements, continue breastfeeding

You can also feed your baby by lying position...plz dnt stop the milk production by injection...it is a blessing for ur baby...many mom's get worried abt their babies for not having enough secretion...If u have good secretion feed ur baby by others help too..ask others to hold ur baby in position...if u r week try feeding by lying...
