Hi Doctor, my son 3 year 7 months old, sufferinf from cold, caugh and fever since last two to three months on and off for a week...based on doctor's prescription, we are using Ascoril LA syrup amd Maxtra....as it was not reducing we had to continue these syrups months together...my concern is if we use these medicines continuously like that for months together, will there be any side effects foreseen??
In recent past. because of his health conditions, we had to give multiple syrups for multiple reasons, cold, caugh, fever...will his health be wffected due to contnuous usage of these medicines???

it is not a major problem and can be continued but it is advisable to shift to anti allergic medicines
whenever you are taking any medicine which has been given by your doctor you have to wait and watch for three days and follow the instructions given by the doctor and if there is no improvement after three days then take a follow up.
so kindly take a follow up with your doctor who will tell you whether any change in medicine or any other investigation is needed or not
