Hi doctor, My daughter is now 7 months old. Her umbilical cord fell on 10 days after birth. But a small portion of the umbilical cord is still on her belly button and is black in colour.Her belly button looks normal. What may be the reason that the portion still remains in her belly button?

Dr Vandan H KumarFather of a 7 yr 4 m old boy1 Year agoA. that is just a remnant of the dried of umbilical cord which does not require any treatment if no discharge is coming from it. just wait and watch and it will totally dry of and will be removed
